Ruth Lawanson Joins Air Force Volleyball Staff

Ruth Lawanson, a former member of the U.S. National Team and head coach of Angelo State University, has agreed to become an assistant coach on the Air Force volleyball staff, head coach Penny Lucas-White announced July 29. Details of the contract are still being worked out and are currently going through the Academy process.

Air Force Welcomes Six Newcomers to 2008 Roster

The Air Force volleyball team added six newcomers to the program's roster for the upcoming season, including several all-conference, all-area and all-state selections. Three of the six players who are in the midst of Basic Cadet Training are in-state athletes, while four of the six attended the Academy's prep school.

Air Force at Wyoming Match to be Televised

The Air Force volleyball team's Oct. 30 match at Wyoming will be televised by The Mtn. - Mountain West Sports Network, the Mountain West Conference office announced this morning (July 14). It will mark the second regular season television appearance for the Falcons, who made their debut during last season's match with the Cowgirls in Laramie.

Air Force Trio Named MWC Scholar-Athletes

Three members of the Air Force volleyball team were named recipient of the Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete award, the league office announced on Monday, June 23. Senior Kim Kallabis claimed her fourth straight Scholar-Athlete award, while a pair of freshmen, Caroline Kurtz and Nichole Stilwell, each picked up their first. [+]

Top-Ranked Brazil Downs USA in Exhibition Match at Clune

Two of the top volleyball teams in the world concluded a three-match series at Clune Arena as a part of the 2008 Olympic Exhibition series. The U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team, ranked fourth in the world, and the top-ranked National Team of Brazil played three matches during a four-day span, with Brazil taking a 2-1 mark. [+]

Air Force Volleyball Announces 2008 Schedule

Three tournaments and eight Mountain West Conference matches highlight the home portion of the 2008 Air Force volleyball schedule, which was released today by the athletic department.
