Former Air Force swimmers Paul Parmenter and Chris Knaute, both members of the Air Force World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), competed in the preliminaries of the men’s 200 IM at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials Thursday in Omaha, Neb.

Parmenter, the Falcons’ school record-holder in the 200 IM, narrowly missed the cut for this evening’s semi-finals. With the top 16 competitors advancing, Parmenter finished 18th overall with a personal-best mark of 2:03.15 in the event. Meanwhile, Knaute finished 54th in the event with a mark of 2:06.42.

Parmenter, along with current Falcons Bryan Avery and Benjamin Gunn, will be back in action tomorrow, as he competes in the prelims of the men’s 100 butterfly.
