Air Force To Join ECAC Lacrosse League

The Air Force lacrosse team is one of five teams set to join the ECAC Lacrosse League beginning in the 2009-10 season, as announced by ECAC Commissioner Rudy Keeling on Wednesday. Along with the Falcons, Bellarmine, Denver, Ohio State and Quinnipiac will join existing members Fairfield, Hobart and Loyola.

Andrew Olsen Named MWC Scholar-Athlete

Lacrosse player Andrew Olsen was one of 506 individuals named a Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete, as announced by the league Monday afternoon. Olsen, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, graduated from the Academy last month with a 3.52 GPA in civil engineering.

Several members of the Air Force lacrosse team were honored Wednesday evening as the Falcons held their annual awards banquet. Capturing the team's top award as most valuable player was senior captain Lukas Fisher.

Outscored 7-0 to open the game, the Air Force lacrosse team fell to seventh-ranked Notre Dame, 13-5, Tuesday afternoon at Cadet Lacrosse Stadium. With the loss, the Falcons drop to 3-8 on the season, 1-3 in the GWLL, while the Fighting Irish improve to 10-2 overall, 3-1 in the league. [+]
