The United States Olympic Committee announced this morning that Lopez Lomong was selected as the flag bearer for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games on Friday, Aug. 8. Lomong, who trains with Air Force cross country coach John Hayes, will be competing in the 1500-meter run at the Games. [+]

Air Force volunteer cross country coach Lopez Lomong secured his spot on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team this evening (July 6) following a third-place finish in the 1500-meter run at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. Clocking a time of 3:41.00, Lomong successfully punched his ticket to the upcoming summer games in Beijing. [+]

Lopez Lomong, the Air Force cross country team's first-year volunteer coach, advanced to the finals of the 1500-meter run at the 2008 Olympic Trials following a second-place finish in the semifinal round of competition on Friday, July 4, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Lomong clocked a time of 3:40.26 to move onto the finals. [+]

Air Force volunteer cross country coach Lopez Lomong clocked a time of 3:43.38 to finish second in the 1500-meter run during the quarterfinal round of action at the 2008 Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore. Lopez, who won the second heat, automatically qualified for a spot in the semifinal round. It is the first of three races to determine the Olympic Team. [+]

With 10 planned meets on the horizon, Air Force cross country head coach John Hayes recently announced the program's schedule for the upcoming 2008 academic year. The Falcons will travel to seven meets during the regular season, en route to the conference, regional and national championship meets. The season officially gets underway on Friday, Aug. 29, in Laramie, Wyo. [+]

Kenny Grosselin, a 2008 graduate of the Air Force Academy, was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Men's Track and Field/Cross Country First-Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and released on Monday, June 23. He is the third Falcon to earn this honor. [+]
