Volleyball
(Session 1: June 7-12; Session 2: June 14-19; Session 3: June 22-24)
Parents
and Young Future Volleyball Stars (ages 8-18)
Thank you for considering the Air Force Volleyball Camp for your
athlete this summer! Volleyball is a very physical, strategic and
technical sport. Although it may be challenging at times, it can
also be very rewarding.
At the Air Force Volleyball Camp, your
athlete will have the opportunity to learn from a select group
of coaches who have all played and coached at the collegiate, professional
and international levels.
Young athletes are starting to develop their abilities at an earlier
age and this is especially true with volleyball, as skill and technique
improves with experience, until a certain skill becomes an unconscious
reaction. Limited scholastic seasons alone do not provide the time
and opportunity to learn and perfect techniques to a high level
of proficiency. That is why attendance at summer camps is so important
to the development of an athlete.
The Air Force Volleyball Camp offers campers a chance to experience
the sport at the fundamental level, while also being able to compete
in a team environment against other young athletes. Over the past
nine years, campers have had the opportunity to see the sport in
action from clinics and scrimmages by the U.S. Men's and Women's
National Teams.
Morning sessions will consist of the basic fundamentals, as well
as time for individual skills and techniques.
A variety of specialty
sessions will be hosted during the afternoon to work on team offense
and defense. Tournament play begins on Thursday, while the playoffs
will take place on Friday.
All campers should bring their volleyball attire: shorts or tights, t-shirts,
socks, court shoes, knee pads and a water bottle.
Each day, the camp runs from 8:30am until 4:30pm, with the exception
of Friday which is a half day, with the tournament playoffs taking
place that morning. Week 3 runs three full days from 8:30 to 4:30
each day.
Again thank you for considering Air Force Volleyball Camp. We are
confident it will be a rewarding experience for your young volleyball
players and will contribute to their future success in the sport.
